The comet is now getting closer to Regulus. (10:00 PM, Feb 25th 2009). It should pass just South of Regulus by Friday night. Although it can be seen with the naked eye, it is only barely visible as a fuzzy patch of light.
The pond is beginning to thaw out - soon we'll have peepers - I'll record them and put the sound on this journal. Probably around the end of April.

Seagulls are one of the most graceful birds in flight. In fact some of them were flying backwards last week.

The Eiders are beginning to collect again. Five years ago in March we had rafts of Eiders out on the bay with over 500 birds in some of the rafts.

Little old ice breaker me. - Mary is breaking up some of the ice in the driveway - there seems to be more ice this year than in the recent past.
