The comet is now getting closer to Regulus. (10:00 PM, Feb 25th 2009). It should pass just South of Regulus by Friday night. Although it can be seen with the naked eye, it is only barely visible as a fuzzy patch of light.
The sun rises more toward the north every morning - soon we won't see the sunrises over water at this location.

This close pass between the Moon and Venus was observed at 7:45 PM. Unfortunately for us, they will be much closer after they go below our horizon - which is good if you live further to the West and the sky is clear.
