The start of the day looked like it would be clear and sunny.

After a few hours into the morning clouds started to move in and the hopes of a sunny day faded.
More and more snow flurries started to form as the day wore on.

This rock, just a short distance off shore, always reminded me of the Matterhorn mountain in Switzerland because of its shape. Back in the late 1960's I stood at the base of the Matterhorn hoping to find a guide and climb to the top. Unfortunately it was the wrong time of the year to climb the mountain (too much ice). I don't think I'll ever get a chance again to climb the Matterhorn but maybe I could climb this rock someday. The Matterhorn is just under 15,000 feet and this rock is maybe 5 feet at low tide. It would be quite a challenge but I think I can make it, although the peak is kind of sharp and it could be quite painful to sit down and savour my accomplishment. Again I'll have to wait for the ice to melt before this endeavour. I'm getting older so I can't wait too long, and I'll need a boat as well as some ropes and stuff. Remember, there's no limit to what the human spirit can drive us to do.
