Looking toward the East early this morning. It's still winter and it's still cold. Hard to believe that the earth was at Perihelion (closest to the Sun) on Jan 3rd.

The Sea is quiet this morning. The High Tides are still above 2 meters but they are beginning to lower as the moon wanes. It will soon be neap tide.
The moon is slowly moving further away from Earth toward apogee on Jan 23rd

Little Julie II and her crew passing by, checking Lobster Traps.
This little Birch tree has faced high winds, salt, freezing rain, etc. And yet it still survives. We'd really miss it if it wasn't there.
This is what the little Birch tree looked like in August (2008). The Poem "Trees" by Alfred Joyce Kilmer, says it all.
